Today on The Mom View, we had two very special guests. Our first guest was Jeannette Cooper, a co-founder of Partners for Ethical Care, followed by Pamela Garfield-Jaeger, an author and child & adolescent mental health expert.
Jeannette shares her emotional story of her daughter and how, at just 12 years old, she had all parental rights taken away. She walked us through what happened, offering insight into key moments and decisions she believes had a significant impact on the outcome.
Pamela discussed the dramatic changes that have occurred in the mental health landscape. She emphasized the importance of parents needing to trust their instincts. She encourages parents to ask questions and advocate for their children. Even when doctors and therapists push back. Explaining that parents should never feel intimidated by experts and how they must remain actively involved in decisions affecting their families.
Now more than ever, it is important that we stand up to these new societal norms— not just our children but for the well-being of our families as a whole.
