“Hakuna mtu anayepaswa kukubali shahada ambayo hawezi kuisoma.”

@Sisimizi3 But Mwanza was an arch-diocese and he was the Archbishop 🙄🙄🙄

👉 In 2017, Ruwaichi wrote a letter accusing Pengo over the way he was administering the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam.
👉 His letter to the Pope lacked substantive evidence and was largely based on rumors and false allegations, yet he urged the Pope to take action.
👉 Following the sustained pressure and accusations from Ruwaichi, Archbishop Pengo eventually decided to resign voluntarily in 2019.

Pope Leo has summoned all Cardinals to Rome for a January 7-8 consistory. The Vatican statement says: “The meeting will unfold over two days and will be marked by moments of communion and fraternity, as well as times dedicated to reflection, sharing, and prayer,” and will seek to offer “support and counsel to the Holy Father in the exercise of his lofty and weighty responsibility in the governance of the universal Church. The Consistory is set within the context of the life and mission of the Church, and it intends to strengthen communion between the Bishop of Rome and the Cardinals, who are called to collaborate in a particular way in solicitude for the good of the universal Church.”

I own a small bakery. We aren’t famous, but we pay the bills. Last Tuesday, a woman came in. She was gripping her purse so tight her knuckles were white. She looked at the display case for a long time—too long. She pointed to the smallest plain vanilla cupcake we had. 'Just that one, please,' she whispered. 'Could you… could you put a tiny candle on it? It’s my daughter’s 6th birthday.' I looked at her shoes. They were wet. It was raining outside, and she had walked here. I looked at her eyes. Red-rimmed. I knew that look. It’s the look of a parent who has to choose between rent and a party. 'I’m sorry,' I said, putting on my best acting face. 'I actually have a huge problem. See this 8-inch chocolate cake with the unicorn frosting?' She looked at the expensive cake on the counter. 'My new decorator messed it up,' I lied. 'The icing is… uh… uneven. I can’t sell it. I was about to throw it in the trash. Would you do me a favor and take it off my hands? No charge. It saves me the guilt of wasting food.' She stared at me. She knew. The icing was perfect. She started to cry, right there in front of the croissant tray. 'Are you sure?' she asked. 'Please,' I insisted. 'You’re doing me a favor.' She walked out with a cake that would have cost $65, holding it like it was gold. Yesterday, I found a card slid under my door. It was a drawing from a 6-year-old girl. A unicorn with a big smile. And in wobbly crayon letters: 'Thank you for making my mommy happy.' Best profit I’ve made all year.

When my husband died, because he was so famous and known for not being a believer, many people would come up to me-it still sometimes happens-and ask me if Carl changed at the end and converted to a belief in an afterlife. They also frequently ask me if I think I will see him again. Carl faced his death with unflagging courage and never sought refuge in illusions. The tragedy was that we knew we would never see each other again. I don't ever expect to be reunited with Carl. But, the great thing is that when we were together, for nearly twenty years, we lived with a vivid appreciation of how brief and precious life is. We never trivialized the meaning of death by pretending it was anything other than a final parting.
Every single moment that we were alive and we were together was miraculous, not miraculous in the sense of inexplicable or supernatural. We knew we were beneficiaries of chance. . . . That pure chance could be so generous and so kind. . . . That we could find each other, as Carl wrote so beautifully in Cosmos, you know, in the vastness of space and the immensity of time. . . . That we could be together for twenty years.
That is something which sustains me and it’s much more meaningful. . . . The way he treated me and the way I treated him, the way we took care of each other and our family, while he lived. That is so much more important than the idea I will see him someday.
I don't think I'll ever see Carl again. But I saw him. We saw each other. We found each other in the cosmos, and that was wonderful.

Before the holy night of #Christmas, find one person with whom to make peace. This will be a more precious gift than any that can be bought, because peace is a gift found only in the heart.

Even independent Africa has so far failed to address the stupidity
Charles Onyango-Obbo@cobbo3
REVISITING SOME OF THE STRANGEST AND WEIRDEST BORDERS IN AFRICA (Tuesday) Namibia's Caprivi Strip is a long, narrow corridor (450 km long, width 20–65 km) jutting eastward like a finger between Angola, Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. Germany created it in 1890 to give its colony access to the Zambezi River, but Victoria Falls made the river unnavigable, rendering the strategic intent pointless.
