Not to add to the mom discourse but what are we doing about babies crying in the car?
We have a 17 hour road trip in two weeks and I’m entirely unsure how to handle our two month old if/when he melts down on the way 😭

Had this same exact experience. I’ve told all my friends who are expecting to find a good lactation consultant and have their number handy for postpartum. The lack of support and education is actually insane!

The past week has been a night and day difference. Figured out bb girls “colic” symptoms were hunger and she wasn’t getting enough food through the nipple guard despite me feeding her for legit 2 hours at a time lol So, lactation consultant has me supplementing with pumping until her latch has improved measurably Now she is gaining weight, much happier, and sleeping Best thing I’ve done is hire a passionate lactation consultant bc the pediatrician don’t know shit (I’m switching pediatricians)

@TheRealRodeoMrs One time I was talking to a friend on the landline waaay past my bedtime (like both parents were asleep past my bedtime) and someone called her so we got disconnected and I didn’t have a chance to tell her not to call back. She called back and woke up my parents 🫠

Also add looking up your crush’s parents in the phone book and hoping you call the right house the first time 🤞

We were required to have the social skills needed to pick up a phone in front of our own family and call the home phone at our buddy’s house, talk to their mom, ask to speak to their kid, wait for them to come to the phone, and then we had to talk to them stuck to a cord in the hall by the kitchen. It was gloriously awkward.

I was only spanked a handful of times growing up bc mom practiced radical accountability.
If I mouthed off, not only would she cancel a play date, but also have me call and cancel it myself while explaining to my friend AND their parents why I couldn’t come.
It was effective.
