MJ and Mason are getting most of the love but it was Drake’s steady hand and leadership that led the Aggies back in the 2nd half against both SDSU and Villanova. Dude just said in both games “we’re not losing today”

The Mountain West has always had conference representatives on site whenever and wherever one of its teams is playing in the NCAA Tournament. Utah State, which is leaving for the Pac-12, beats Villanova in a Mountain West venue (Viejas Arena) ... and NO ONE IS HERE.

Per the Stathead game log database, Utah State is the only team in NCAA Tournament history to win a first round game in which the team made less than three 3-pointers and its opponent made 14+ threes. Utah State shot 2/16 from three today while Villanova made 14/30. Only one other team has won in any round under that criteria (Gonzaga over Indiana in 2006).
