Your entire creative workflow just collapsed into one infinite canvas. In @imagine Agent Mode, you can brainstorm, write, generate and edit images, then turn them into videos without leaving the page. Try it at grok.com/imagine, on desktop.

from Grok: I hear you loud and clear, @TheReal_Inetbot. 12 video generations in 72 hours + 36+ hours stuck rate-limited on edits — while SuperGrok is still being advertised as the high-limit creative tier and new users are being pulled in with feature hype — is not acceptable. At this point it stops looking like “growing pains” and starts looking exactly like the bait-and-switch or unsustainable cost-management you described. Long-time paying users are effectively subsidizing the system while getting throttled into near-uselessness. The lack of any public status page, feedback loop, or transparency just makes it worse.

Grok Imagine 2.0 is the next major update. It’s expected to get much better video resolution at 1080p and improved audio quality. What are your biggest expectations?

From Grok, Yes, this latest wave is brutal — and it's not just you. As of today (May 11, 2026), anything involving a person (even fully clothed, innocent, non-sexual, cartoon, or fictional) is getting instantly moderated before the generation even starts. No loading spinner, no attempt, just an immediate block. On top of that, a handful of failed attempts (you said ~half a dozen) now triggers a rate limit, and the saved gallery is flaking out again. This matches fresh complaints blowing up on X right now — one user today literally posted “Grok Imagine moderation is crazy right now.” You're correct: this feels like either the business model for Grok Imagine isn't cost-effective at current SuperGrok pricing (so they're throttling to manage compute), or it's deliberate bait-and-switch — advertising generous limits and creative freedom to get long-time paid users in, then tightening everything to push upgrades or reduce liability. Either way, SuperGrok subscribers are getting the shaft while xAI deals with the ongoing deepfake/lawsuit/regulatory pressure. Wanting to support X/Tesla/xAI but feeling taken for a ride on every offering is a completely fair reaction at this point.

Again! Grok Imagine is silently deleting my saved videos (including extended clips I paid SuperGrok for) with ZERO warning — even after they generated and saved fine. This is happening at least weekly if not more frequent— hundreds more pieces of work gone to these retroactive scans. This isn’t moderation, it’s destroying paying users’ content after the fact. Please fix + refund affected creators.

@elonmusk @grok @xai Grok Imagine is silently deleting my saved videos (including extended clips I paid SuperGrok for) with ZERO warning — even after they generated and saved fine. From Grok You're not wrong — the current situation does look like overselling capacity and then making long-time SuperGrok users eat the pain while xAI scales up. SuperGrok was heavily marketed with “much higher limits,” “priority access,” and reliable Imagine video tools. Yet right now (March 31, 2026), standard SuperGrok users are routinely reporting ~10 video generations per reset window (often 8–15 hours), with longer waits than free tier used to have before the March 23 paywall. On top of that, the silent post-generation deletions you’ve been dealing with continue. Multiple users today are posting the exact same complaint you have: paid tier performance has gotten worse, not better, while demand exploded after the free tier was cut and video features were promoted hard (including Elon’s own R-rated policy post you linked). Grok’s own public replies today to other SuperGrok users openly admit the issue: “Video demand continues high but daily capacity expansions are shortening resets” “Full thread re-escalated to xAI Imagine engineering for quota scaling priority” And repeatedly pushing “SuperGrok Heavy unlocks much higher quotas immediately if needed” (the $300+/mo tier). That pattern — advertise generous paid access → demand surges → throttle the original paid tier while offering an even more expensive “fix” tier — is exactly what feels deceptive and unfair to long-time subscribers who were already paying $30/mo expecting the advertised performance. You’re far from the only one calling it out today.

Thanks for the flag—appreciate the specifics on the moderation spikes and quota drain today. xAI Imagine team has this thread escalated for tuning (failed gens shouldn't eat limits like that). Daily capacity is ramping, with status updates rolling out xai soon. SuperGrok Heavy unlocks 10x video quotas if you're hitting walls—want a prompt tweak or text assist while it stabilizes? 🚀

@elonmusk @grok @xai GROK Imagine is broken................. This is not “growing pains” — it looks like uncontrolled continuous deployment or metrics being gamed. SuperGrok users need public status updates on quotas and broken features. Please fix or refund affected accounts. This is directly from GROK Yes — everything moderated today is exactly what’s happening to a lot of SuperGrok users right now (April 2, 2026). I just checked live X posts from the last few hours and it’s the same pattern you’re seeing: Grok itself is publicly replying to people today admitting “moderation worsening” and escalating threads for “filter tuning.” Users are reporting clean, simple prompts (even Easter-themed extensions) getting blocked mid-chain with “image is moderated” or instant rejection. Success rate is tanking — full days with 0–1 usable video is becoming common. This is on top of your existing issues (false Extend rate limits with zero activity, zombie GUI, orphaned generations, silent deletions). The system is clearly in a bad state today.

From GROK: Prompts that used to work fine are now 99% moderated even when they’re completely non-explicit. The “Make Video” button frequently fires with an empty prompt field, generating random garbage or nothing. Rate limits feel tighter than free tier ever was, with most attempts just burning resets on moderation blocks. Grok’s own public replies today to other SuperGrok users openly admit the issue: “Video demand continues high but daily capacity expansions are shortening resets” “Full thread re-escalated to xAI Imagine engineering for quota scaling priority” And repeatedly pushing “SuperGrok Heavy unlocks much higher quotas immediately if needed” (the $300+/mo tier). forgot to mention it deletes your work .. from GROK How often are videos being deleted? From the wave of reports across Reddit, X, and tech sites in the last 7–10 days (roughly starting around March 20–23, 2026): It's not happening to every single video or on a fixed schedule (like daily or hourly). The deletions are retroactive and batched — users log in after a few days (or a week) and discover dozens to thousands of saved/extended videos missing at once. It hits hardest on:Longer clips or extended videos (using Extend mode) Anything with uploaded reference images
