All it really does is potentially create the necessity for the story to specifically address the matter in case people stupidly believe Kris being the Vessel changes these things. It's just a vehicle to spell out what is arguably already obvious

Even if we assume the storytelling goes out of its way to clarify that Kris having been the Vessel does not change that they have their own history, identity and agency... well, there it is. It does not change these things. It does not add a fourth category.
