So it has been reported that the decision to suspend the Balogun red card was taken by the Head of FIFA Disciplinary & did not go through the other 17 members of the Committee & FIFA have declined to publish the written reasons for the decision!!

@CurvaWanderlust We agree that the ball hitting a cable wire (not an overhead pylon) should result in a drop ball restart of play. Cheating is deliberately acting in a manner to deceive others when no foul has been committed. Nothing else mentioned. Purely opinion on cheating action by players

@TheRefsView And while we are on the subject of cheating - cheating is a ball hitting an overhead pylon and then attempting to wriggle out of it. Cheating is also justifying some imaginary hand ball at Fir Park back in May.

La expulsión de Embolo fue correcta de acuerdo al reglamento por fingir la falta. Sin embargo, la duda sigue siendo porque las sanciones no son parejas. Enzo Fernández hizo lo mismo ante Cabo Verde y ahí no se juzgó igual.

@TheRefsView I would like to see a formal panel set up to review all games with the idea of driving cheating right out of the game. It would need some thought, but in rugby union players are cited for offences not picked up by the match day officials.
