@HansenAdam@josvanemden@cpacycling Adam, you are smarter than this. Only registered members of an association can vote, not users of an app. Having none-members vote makes the vote void.
@josvanemden@cpacycling@TheRidersUnion I think the wording is not really correct, but what they mean is you can download and be member of the CPA App, and cast your own individual vote, like how riders requested years ago. So this is your chance to have what you wanted now. Good luck in your Pokemon Go 😉
@cpacycling this means I never was a member before? In this case I would like to have my paid membership back for the last 16 years please for being a forced member. You have my details, thanks in advance. @TheRidersUnion
@CharlesMarsault@jellewallays We started of with 200 members and had some riders retire. Most common comment: we already pay for the CPA and we have no choice to be a member there.
(3/3) Has CPA been receiving deductions of prize money for riders that were never their member? Did CPA let non-members vote in their previous elections? Is it OK to claim you have been representing all riders when you know it is not the case?
(2/3) Asking for a friend: why would you invite riders to become a member that you claim are automatically your member? Does it means riders were never automatically a member and you correct that now? Does it also mean that block voting in history?
(1/3) For the past two years, we have been arguing with @UCI_cycling and @cpacycling over alleged 'automatic membership' for all pro riders, as defended by them. We believe it is nonsense.
Gianni Bugno and Alessandra Cappellotto are taking part in the UCI World Tour seminar to gather valuable information for the riders and to exchange views with the other stakeholders for the growth of the #cycling movement 🚴 #CPA#CpaWomen#WeAreTheRiders
@LarsVanD There is a shared responsibility here: The system should be comprehensive and fair in the first place, f.e. comparison between points gained through compulsory vs invitational participation is questionable. And yes: all teams and riders should be switched on!
The whole relegation issue is a symptom and not the root of the current state of cycling... Teams, riders and organizers combined have a minority in the decision making process, so don't expect change if you don't want to change that structure... #groundhogday#onerideronevote
Transfer season in our board of directors, where we welcome @AllanPeiper to replace David Tanner, who steps down for personal and professional reasons...
@GerritD@LeTour Yes that doesn’t always have to be through Twitter or other media. We don’t want to react to all incidents but structural change. The tour situation was communicated to the uci.
@TheRidersUnion@LeTour isnt the job of a union precisely to call this kind of thing out as soon as you see it? advocating for safety is not "spoiling the party"
(2/2) We didn’t want to spoil the party at @LeTour’s World Bunchsprint Championship in Paris, but having open barriers before or after the finish is scary dangerous…
@bryanharding@BenjiNaesen@UCI_cycling And for your information: the @UCI_cycling has all our support to enforce their own rules. It would make cycling safer and therefore better. This is not the way to stimulate kids to start riding a bike in races…
(1/2) What happens between the moment an organiser designs a parcours and @UCI_cycling judges the race and rules? And who is liable for consequences if one of two don’t do their job?
@_ThomasHarvey_@bryanharding@BenjiNaesen@UCI_cycling In this particular case, the technical guide with the mention of the speed bump at that place should have caused a red flag. We all should be able to rely on a judge applying the rules.
@BenjiNaesen@UCI_cycling And last but not least; we believe it is fair that inquiries and eventual sanctions for all parties (riders, team, organisers) should be equally treated. Riders and teams now have the idea that they are publicly shamed and clear mistakes by organisers are swept under the carpet.
@TheRidersUnion@UCI_cycling Out of curiosity and not tweeted out of bad faith, what have the riders union and CPA done in the last few months to highlight these issues before these events happen. Because I swear I’ve seen sketchy parcours all year without such a tweet.
@BenjiNaesen@UCI_cycling We have been pushing relentlessly that it becomes compulsory to have courses to be assessed independently (not the case now). Whilst we have a constructive attitude and hope that still diplomacy has its effect, we conclude that change is too slow. (1/2)
@TdFaddict@UCI_cycling The biggest lever is to stop racing, which won’t happen; riders are true ambassadors of the sport they love and they want to bring a race to the fans and sponsors
