@TheRiverLock Haha, he literally cites de Lubac in this passage. It’s not the HoC but the Hermeneutic of Reform in Continuity. You don’t get to go back to the past unless you want to disobey the Council and the post-Conciliar church.

To pin the papal personality cult to Pius XII is dishonest. There are various cases accross Church history of "papolatry", but if we have to say a point where it became regular, it definitely started after Vatican 1

Contemporary sedevacantism is in part the result of the rise of the Pius XII papal personality cult of an ascetic who looked the papal part. The fact that he wasn’t very traditional about, say, liturgy is irrelevant. He looked the part, and he ruled by fiat.
