The Rose of Hungerford is accessible for wheelchair users and the crew fully trained in operating the wheelchair lift. Here they are in action last weekend

Heatwave this weekend . Join the crew of The Rose for a refreshing drink and cruise along the canal. 2 public trips on Saturday, a private charter on Sunday morning followed by a public trip on Sunday afternoon.

The Rose of Hungerford exiting Wyre Lock to turn in the Winding Hole before the journey back to Hungerford Wharf. Public trips last approx 2.5hrs and passengers can disembark at Wyre Lock to stretch their legs.

Public trips today at 11.30 am and 2.30pm .Sunny spells and scattered showers forecast for today. "Feeling pleasant in the sunshine with light winds" - perfect boating weather especially if you are indoors enjoying the views with the friendly crew offering you refreshments.

Public trips on Wednesday 11.30am and 2.30pm. Join the crew for a leisurely trip along the Kennet & Avon canal . Spot the resident but elusive kingfisher ( last seen on Saturday afternoon) and meet the Swan family with their growing brood of cygnets.

The crew on Saturday afternoon being very careful not to upset Mother Swan and her cygnets in Dunmill Lock. Luckily Father swan appeared to lead his family out of the lock before the gates were closed.

Slow down and relax this weekend …

THE ROSE REMEMBERS - Buckby cans, used to carry fresh water on working narrowboats, are reputedly named after Long Buckby village. Most boats now have water tanks so these lovely, traditional items are mostly decorative. Our ‘well used’ can is always on the roof during trips.
