Really interesting (and heated) discussing around player development. The interesting distinction for me is that RJ is discussing skill development where- as KP is discussing mental characteristics. Obviously incredibly nuanced but what do you see as more important in your current context?

RJ and Perk are GOING AT IT over youth basketball etiquette! Perk says no mercy, RJ says it’s killing the American game. Whose side are you on? ( @KendrickPerkins / @Rjeff24 )

Expected Learning Value (ELV) helps create a memory of practice. It gives coaches a way to assess whether sessions are likely to transfer to performance. Not perfect, but better than forgetting what mattered most. #PROFramework #highperformance #trainingdesign

Really interesting two sides to the story. By the sounds of it media are frustrated that Colin failed to answer questions and (perhaps) feel they missed a story/or weren’t given appropriate access of an important event. Aka not able to do their job! On the other hand why is there an expectation for players/coaches to be accessible all the time. You have NBA/NFL coaches doing interview at half time. PL staff arriving back from away trips at 3am and then doing another media at noon. Do we really think they at these times they are going to be their most charismatic/thought provoking versions of themselves instead of sterile/exhausted shells? Seems like something has to give at some point 🤷‍♂️

“I don’t owe anyone anything” Yes you do. Professional sports (and the money that comes with it) relies on the relationship between athletes and media.

Watching Pep navigate this period will be the most intriguing period of Premier League management in the last 5 years. How, if at all, does he adapt? Do we see disgruntled players? Do his behaviors change? Regardless what it highlights…. There is no replacement for high performing players regardless how coherent your game model or principles are!! Concentrate on the people!!! #pep #LIVMCI
