Amazon is happy to spend money lobbying politicians to rig our tax code in their favor, rather than paying its workers what they deserve.

“For years, though, Amazon has declined to say whether it was aware that the public officials it was negotiating with for tax incentives also owned a key local vendor.”

Understaffing is a business decision. Executives cut staff, pile impossible workloads onto workers, and then act surprised when patients get hurt, flights get canceled, and shelves stay locked up. Working people didn’t create this chaos. Greedy bosses did.

The fourth estate can’t do its job when it is beholden to billionaire interests and politicians over the people it is meant to serve. Solidarity to all journalists and workers affected.
