Well, one was, until USAID was disbanded. Now she's looking for long term work. He still has his job, but because they've cut so many people, the workload is extremely high. The shutdowns are extremely hard on them, and on a lot of people. They have a son in college, and game a mortgage and car payments, like most people. My state (MD) has been hit especially hard by the shutdowns and federal job cuts. A lot of businesses have shut down. The cost of housing keeps going up, and the cost of everything else. The terrible thing is that so many career govt employees were cut in a shirt thing that it flooded the market. Then the tariffs, and well - you know the rest. But when you have to choose between letting a shutdown continue and passing a budget, it's never an easy call. It's never a single issue consideration. So I don't think it's evil or wrong for Democrats to prioritize finding the government & services it provides.
