I remember fighting him back on release in 2023. He was very difficult. I think he was later patched, so his first phase went down quicker. Still, this phase has a lot going on. If you have invested in throwables, they are good when he nears the end, and starts calling The Hand of God

I enjoyed the original scene immensely. Especially on a first playthrough, since I had no clue he would turn. And that he’d be so close to you that, unless you readied your shotgun, he would most likely grab you. The remake sets it up a little better, with him growling when you are ready to leave beneath the statue, hinting at what will happen later. And later, when he gets up, Claire and Leon react accordingly to his transformation. Still, the original surprised me a lot more

Horror has certainly evolved. And what people in the 80’s considered peak slasher/horror genre may not resonate with people in the past decade. And that’s fine. However, if you’re spending half of your natural lifespan playing DbD, at least take the time to check Tik Tok between matches to become informed on who the guy with a machete and mask is. Because at this point, you’re not a fake horror fan, you’re being willfully ignorant, which is objectively worse.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion around Jason finally coming to DBD, and I’ve seen people calling others “fake horror fans” because they didn’t know who he was. As someone who grew up loving the horror genre, all I have to say is this:

I personally did not approve of the “watch a shoddy shack in the woods for 13 hours” bit. Reason why I gave it 5 minutes of my time before doing literally anything else. Regarding the review bombing, it won’t matter: once Jason is properly revealed on the PTB, the DbD goldfish community will swim feverishly forward, credit card in hand

Are we really review bombing bc of the stream? DBD did something new & 40k ppl stayed up to watch a cabin & theorize over the slightest of sounds. The whole point was to build anticipation & for the community to theorize. It was supposed to be FUN & y’all are acting like victims.

@TeenWerewolf31 @PrimeEvilXP I have him and have played several matches. He was fun, just like the other 40+ killers… after a few matches. Everything after that for me, was the same: chase, hook, deal with EGC, repeat. And for many, that is the Alpha & Omega of gaming. Not for me

Peek in for variety at the very least. Especially in the DBD community, a lot of people critique streamers for only playing DBD, especially past the point of enjoyment. However, when they play other games, people don't support it. Can't have your cake & eat it too.

In a logical and perfect scenario, the new chapter would drop, and the player base, understandingly upset because they wasted 4+ hours looking at a cabin, would keep their wallets shut, prompting Cote & Co. to look at each other and wonder what went wrong… But this is the DbD community. Once the new killer/ survivor is revealed, goldfish memory kicks in, dopamine levels skyrocket, and cards are swiped left and right

This clearly translated to Elden Ring, where the idea of a fat man rolling around in even fatter armor cannot stand next to the polished finesse of The Good Hunter and The Wolf

It’s good you’re taking your time to release it- make sure it’s ironed out perfectly for its (hopeful) 2027 release date. Having gone through the platinum for Rebirth back on release, Chadley was the one unnecessary and miserable wall that made me not want to replay the game at all. I have to imagine at this point that Hamaguchi is actively trolling or genuinely senile and out of touch, since nobody likes that Android. Yes, there are hints of him in Rebirth that point towards some sort of manipulation via Hojo. I’m not saying he should be deleted from the story, but his presence and importance should be significantly reduced from Rebirth. And he should definitely not be used to gatekeep the platinum
