Watching Chanel love on Leslie like that in the airport hangar reminded us that the work we do on island impacts more than just local strays. Through safe and responsible transport, families are made whole from thousands of miles away.

“She had been chained up all her life…” At our recent Freedom Flight, Leslie told us the story of how she needed The Sato Project’s help to rescue a pup living in terrible conditions in her father’s neighborhood...

In our 15th year of operation, The Sato Project is running its final Freedom Flight under the old model. This Thursday, dozens of satos will fly from Puerto Rico to Morristown, NJ as they have countless times over the past decade and a half.

Through a combination of reduced rate veterinary services and free monthly transports between Puerto Rico and New Jersey, SATO United will prioritize and provide a responsible, safe, and secure approach to flying these incredible dogs to their new lives!
