First met The Cribs around 2015 / 2016 backstage at Reading Festival and crossed paths a few times over the years on the circuit. It was a pleasure to support them yesterday at their Leeds show! Some photographers take pictures. Sheffield legend Glenn Ashley captured moments that will last forever. I’m sad and shocked to hear that Glenn has died. He had been poorly but I understood he was on the mend. My thoughts and prayers are with his loving family. Gone far too soon, @GAimages also leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of photographs and memories that live on. For years we worked side by side, front of house and backstage, at arenas, festivals and theatres, reviewing and interviewing, some of the biggest names on the planet. From rock legends to pop superstars, Hollywood icons to Yorkshire favourites, Glenn was always there - camera in hand, working his magic. He had an incredible eye for a picture and an even greater work ethic. No angle was too difficult, no challenge too much. He would always go the extra yard to find that special shot that brought my words to life. His photographs didn’t just record events; they told the story. Together we shared unforgettable moments, a few of his amazing photos in this post. It’s a who’s who of entertainment including @TheSlyStallone to George Michael, @eltonofficial, Tina Turner, @rodstewart, @DollyParton, @bryanadams, @takethat @LionelRichie, Jayze, Kanye West, Drake, Meatloaf, @onedirection and all our local super talents including @ArcticMonkeys, Def Lepard, @TheTonyChristie, @heaven17bef, @JohnParrMusic, Eliot Kennedy, @abcmartinnfry, @humanleagueHQ, @welovepulp, @Reverend_Makers, @RichardHawley and countless others. A special memory was when we were on stage with our special friends @TheSherlocks at Leeds Festival as they got news that their debut album had charted at number six. My favourite photo of Glenn, a fun pic he asked me to take with his camera is of him having his face squeezed meeting @kiss backstage at @SheffieldArena. His smile says it all. But Glenn was never interested in being the star. He was happiest behind the lens, creating images that others would remember. Glenn wore his heart on his sleeve. He could be outspoken and wasn’t afraid to tell it as he saw it. We didn’t always agree, and we certainly didn’t always see eye to eye, but I respected him immensely for standing by his principles. He was true to himself and utterly dedicated to the job he loved. Thanks, Glenn, for the friendship, the laughs and for creating an album of memories that will live on long after the final curtain. Your photographs are your legacy, and what a remarkable legacy it is. Rest in peace, my friend. Gx

Last Saturday was one of the best days I’ve ever had at a gig. Six great bands supporting the bloody Awesome @TheSherlocks at the Steelyard and then watching the England match on the big screen. Seth had a great time!
