Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of “Slava Ukraini” protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared.
I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.)
It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a shit person.

@MelissaLMRogers That’s the way this democracy works. How is it that you are so unaware of the system you live under and call it insane? #elbowsup

@ProudGrannyCdn @CBCNews How is that fact material to the story. It was the bureaucracy (“VAC staff”) that caused the error and covered it up. Should the Prime Minister scour every bureaucratic department and systems checking their work for errors? Of course not.

W5 as a stand alone program is eliminated by Bell. More than 50 years of fine current affairs journalism on CTV at an end. A tremendous legacy. A sad day for Canadian television.
Steve Faguy@fagstein
CTV News at Noon is being cut everywhere except Toronto. Weekend news being cut except Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. No news on holidays. And W5 is being cancelled, though the brand will be integrated into CTV National News.

@LisaLaFlamme_ Well, do you have a couple billion to throw into the burning pile? Because billionaires can’t rescue the sinking ship. That’s playing out. Yesterday is over.

@Travisdhanraj Did you vote Liberal or (worse) NDP? Their policies are deadly to jobs. Apart from that, mainstream media won’t survive.

This is a dark day for Canadian Journalism. A pillar of our democracy can’t be left to crumble- this is what is happening. #CDNNews #cdnpoli

Reminder: Telus made $1.7 billion in profits last year — up from the year before.
Instead of treating workers with respect, Telus is laying them off.
What we need is to promote real competition.
Not allow mergers that lead to job cuts and higher prices.
