As someone who speaks a 2nd language at about the same level of fluency as Zelensky’s English, it surprises me that no one has referenced this in their analysis of the oval office row. Nuance, dexterity and manners are very hard to achieve 2 against 1 in a foreign language

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has led his people heroically for three years against completely unprovoked aggression from Russia. The bravery of the Ukrainians has been amazing. Their suffering has been appalling. It is they who deserve our support and they who frankly deserve our respect. The best way forward now is for the minerals deal to be signed as soon as possible.
