The Truth about Transgender Athletes There is so much misinformation being spread on Twitter and by many Republicans concerning 1) Transgender women playing female sports, and 2) what Joe Biden's stance on the issue is. I want to address a few things here: - Republicans want a blanket ban on transgender athletes playing sports with students from the gender they identify as. Yet, studies show that males and females are no different from a strength/speed standpoint until they are somewhere between 11-14 years old. - Biden wants to prohibit blanket bans and would like to instead allow schools to have discretion to limit the participation of transgender students, if the school concludes that including transgender athletes could undermine competitive fairness or potentially lead to sports-related injuries. - This would allow for elementary-aged kids to play as the gender identity of their choice since hormones are not at play yet, while also allowing high schools and colleges to make rules to ensure that sports are played fairly (i.e. testosterone tests, etc.). - What so many people don't realize is that it would be unfair for a transgender athlete with lower levels of testosterone than most females to play with male athletes. - Unfortunately there is no full-proof solution. We need to take time to have more studies performed. We know the mental impact it can take on transgender students who are alienated. We also know that at certain ages male hormones would make it unfair for some transgender women to play with other females. - Maximum inclusivity without harming women is the stance that the vast majority of Democrats, including Joe Biden take. That's where I am on the issue as well.

I will be re-introducing my bill to extend Social Security's solvency for the next 75 years & expand benefits by $2,400 a year. How? By scrapping the cap. Today, a billionaire pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $160,000 a year. Let's end that absurdity.
