@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock Yes you cant vote on everything, of course, but I think voting on the new PRESIDENT of the university warrants waiting for the student body to return in the fall
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock And the drinking age is 21 for many more complex reasons than simply, 18 is too young. If that were the case, why does every other country in the world have a younger drinking age? I dont see how not being able to drink is relevant to this AT ALL
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock What does buying alcohol have to do with anything?? Old enough to drive, old enough to vote, old enough to serve, but when it comes to the school they themselves are attending, them being 18 suddenly means they are too irresponsible to make that decision? What?
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock You may not like HOW they protest but that doesn't mean their opinions are any less valid. I agree to some extent that students could go around it better but I would take students using their power to protest in any way over them not protesting at all
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock Who cares about good looks? McMaster individually calling the Board members to try and convince them to hold the vote before the fall is a 'bad look'. You say you only care about the students reactions, but ignoring WHY the students are reacting is just missing the boat
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock If you want to latch on to my argument and say that simply bc I used the word entitlement means that I am a spoiled college kid who just wants what he wants, then you are clearly giving no credence to anything else I've said, ironically, much like the board and McMaster himself
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock I mean, entitled can be used as a baiting word, but when you turned 18, were you not entitled to vote? I am not using entitled as in 'these students are entitled just by them being students' but the actions of McMaster and the Board today show that they dont care one iota ab very
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock If 18 yr olds are determined educated and experienced enough to vote for President of the United States, then dont you think they should be given the same treatment when it comes to determining the president of their OWN university? I would love to hear your argument if not.
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock And you might have started your education after you graduated but that is personally on you. I used my 4 years at USC to educate myself and I plan to continue to educate myself but saying because you weren't educated enough to make a decision, EVERY student cant? C'mon guy
English

@BrianBrxctf @thegamecock And by holding the election in the summer, it is not even giving students the chance to canvas and share their ideas
English

@henrymcmaster is a politicizing sycophant that is trying to use a position he never deserved in the first place to hold sway on the future education at SC's largest university. He should be ashamed and @LTGRobertCaslen is just as culpable. Sickening.
English

@LTGRobertCaslen is a disgrace as a president. No university that values the opinions of their students would hold an election during the summer. Period. The Board of Trustees should be ashamed for abusing their power so grossly.
