@AceNero55 Exactly! It makes sense that she would return as a pawn, but it left the door open to her character again after it was seemingly closed in her own arc. The fact that absolutely NOTHING of her is mentioned/seen outside of Denji’s tragic memories in part 2 is absurd.

One of the cruelest details in Control Arc is how close Reze and Denji were to each other. Denji never faces her since Pochita takes his place, while Reze is trapped under Makima’s control. In the end, Denji never knew she was even there.

@AceNero55 I was just about to comment that 😂. In hindsight, I believe that bringing Reze back in the Control Arc was a big mistake. Mainly because it leaves the question of “Well… where is she now?” Not to mention it doesn’t help that all hybrids except her returned in part 2.

@WhippedHybrids We can definitely agree on the fact that the pacing to the ending was asinine at least lol. That’s definitely one of the many reasons the ending didn’t work for me. You get to the next chapter and it’s just the “Pochita dies now” chapter. Just some serious pacing whiplash for me.

But idk why some himeno fans act like just because she was drunk means it doesnt really matter. This makes rapists look more excusable because "they were drunk so they didnt mean it"

@Iren34Jupiter @evillulalunee I just feel like if this type of ending was always in the cards, it could’ve used WAY more set up and planning. As it stands, at least to me, it just doesn’t make sense, feels unearned, forced, and makes the events of the story leading up to it utterly pointless.

Power conveniently showing up when Denji is killed by the zombies, Nayuta replacing Makima and seemingly behaving the exact same way despite being raised by the government, and Denji conveniently being there to catch Asa. @Iren34Jupiter @evillulalunee Unfortunately, I still think it’s a reset. There is a subconscious resonance with certain things from before the reset, but that’s it. Characters don’t remember each other or the events they went through, so they don’t even have the knowledge to make things better. (1/2).

But personally, it just felt like the author got tired of his own work and had Pochita hand the ending to Denji with zero build-up. Not to mention changing the way Pochita’s powers work just for the ending to happen. (2/2)

He doesn’t remember anything, no longer went through the events of the story itself (making it all feel pointless), and just gets a confusing happy ending handed to him by Pochita killing himself with the “themes and such” gun. @Iren34Jupiter @evillulalunee See I agree with that. The problem is that we don’t get that in a satisfying way in my opinion. Denji himself never outright chooses to let go of being Chainsaw Man until Pochita just cheats his development by erasing himself so the new Denji doesn’t have to choose.

He doesn’t have ANY of his memories or development that we followed throughout the series, he was reset, not the same Denji.

@Iren34Jupiter @evillulalunee Oh no we got that interpretation. It just feels horribly and cheaply done. There wasn’t any growth or development to get Denji to that moment. Pochita just killed himself and made a new Denji that would give up Chainsaw Man without conflict cause he doesn’t exist. It’s lazy.

@AceNero55 Season 1 was good, but it didn’t have me hooked or anything. Next thing I know, I was hearing the most depressing melody accompanied with what I assumed was a new love interest of Denji’s dying all over social media. That was what hooked me. I wish I had seen it blind. 😔
