Thank you. Yes. You are right in that they have lots of doubts. So did the Gunny and Skadi. All the characters have been elevated to ranks and positions for which they feel ill prepared and it is my intent to portray that even the most confident appearing individuals have doubts. Going from private to major, and CWO to admiral is a massive jump. As the arc progresses they do overcome much of their doubt. Nobody is perfect and people make dumb mistakes all the time. As for being called out. In SOG society that is suicide. Pointing out flaws or errors in a CO are what gets people exteriminated. Furthermore, SCBIs are not designed to ensure loyalty and that is more Winter's fear. Thank you.

Hello Mr frisbee, I really liked this book, the story is going great imho If you'd allow me some fan feedback, humbly, I'd say that you've gotten temporarily rid of confident characters like skadi and gunny, and left us with two self doubters who, while I understand it's part of their personalities, spend the whole book stuck on their impostor syndrome It was understandable a few books ago, especially stathis, but 11 books in he's accomplished enough that I believe he needs some amount of growth, I'm not saying he should completely abandon his doubts, but being just as intense as always makes no sense Winters refusing to give SCBIs to even the top staff, while there was an infiltrator emergency, even when she knew none of the traitors had SCBIs, suggesting they were immune, just because she hates men and is insecure angered me to no end, it truly made me hate the character This is fine, not every character has to be likable, or intelligent, but what's worse it's nobody called her out on it, not even her own SCBI, which is supposed to be good at picking out patterns, never said, "hey maybe we should start enhancing this people to root out the traitors" Anyways I can't wait for the next book, thank you for the stories
