A Louisville mother is facing attempted murder charges after police say she attacked her 6 year old daughter with a hammer, leaving the little girl with multiple skull fractures and brain bleeds. According to investigators, officers responded to a home on Wilson Avenue where they found the child in critical condition. She was rushed to Norton Children’s Hospital and has since reportedly been discharged after recovering. Police say the child’s older brother stepped in and physically restrained their mother during the attack. Court documents state she allegedly tried to go back toward the child while saying, “Let me finish her.” Investigators say the mother later admitted she “lost control” and struck her daughter with the hammer multiple times because she “could not control her anger.” She was arrested at the scene and is now facing charges including attempted murder, assault, and criminal child abuse. Absolutely heartbreaking.
