Ode To Canada
In the Land of the Maple, where freedoms were sown,
A tale unfolds, in somber tones.
A nation once thriving, open and free,
Now teeters the edge of a different decree.
From East to West, the whispering pines,
Echo worries of changing times.
Costs spiraling high, beyond the clouds,
As the burden weighs heavy, on Canadian crowds.
“Welcome, welcome!” the borders call,
To hundreds of thousands, in spring and fall.
But homes and hearths, once plentiful and wide,
Now scarce, as prices surge like the tide.
The hand of the government, once a guide so dear,
Now stirs in many a growing fear.
For every coin given, in kindness or need,
Masks a chain of control, a silent seed.
Spending unfettered, debts unbound,
In Ottawa's halls, a worrying sound.
Programs and promises, in generous guise,
Yet some see shadows of control in disguise.
But listen! In the heart of the True North, strong & free,
A spirit unbroken, like the mighty sea.
Canadians, awakening, start to discern,
The path they’re on, and where it may turn.
From Halifax harbors to Vancouver’s shores,
The voice of reason, freedom implores.
“Rise up, stand tall, in unity we call,
To preserve our nation, for one and for all.”
In community gatherings, in quiet night talks,
In the bustling cities, on nature’s walks.
A hope rekindles, a resilient flame,
For the Canada they love, to remain the same.
Not in anger or hate, but in love they stand,
A tapestry diverse, hand in hand.
Against the tide of tyranny, real or perceived,
For the True North, strong and free, they still believe.
In the maple’s shadow, in the northern light,
Lies a path of balance, of wisdom and right.
For freedom’s tree, in Canadian soil,
Needs nurturing hands, lest it uncoil.
So hear the tale of the maple land,
Where freedom and hope, together stand.
In the face of change, in challenges vast,
The spirit of Canada, forever will last.
