So rather than making it so the person can’t move their legs once their knees are petrified, make it so they can lift and rotate their legs through the hip, while their feet remain locked in place and etc for the rest of the body

I know it’s be insanely difficult to animate, but I really like the idea of a video where someone is getting petrified and as it creeps up it actually stops their movement according to real biomechanics.

I want to experience this one day. Probably the closest thing we can get to irl petrification without just jumping into drying cement

Or petrification where they are first encased in their material, leaving them conscious and aware underneath, but it gradually seeps further into their body. They can feel their outer skin, then their muscles, then their bones petrifying, before eventually their brain

What’s better? Petrification where, as it progresses the very cells of the person being petrified are instantly turned to stone, meaning the transformation into an inanimate statue is instant and once it passes over their head their brain turns to stone and all thoughts cease

@The_Collector31 There is some variations depending on who writes: "According to Apollodorus' version of their story, all three Gorgons had the ability to turn to stone anyone who looked upon them." They were however both immortal, whereas Medusa was not.

Fun fact! The petrifying gaze was actually the signature of Medusa and only Medusa. In Greek mythology the other two gorgons, Stheno and Euryale, couldn’t actually turn people to stone at all. Have a good day
