Sources: Charlotte FC decline the purchase option on DP midfielder Pep Biel. The move opens a DP spot for the winter. Expect the club to try to swing big with open DP spot. Biel still could return on loan next season if they can swing it without a DP spot. Open to it. TBD.

Note this 2nd sentence. Yes, Djordie Petrović had a better MLS season on paper in 2022, but Kahlina played 13 MORE games. IMO that makes his season and win even more impressive.

Also this. This is the 2nd highest PSxG+/- in the league since 2019 (arbitrary cutoff admittedly). Only Petrović for NE was better in 2022 (only 21 90s to Kahlina’s 34 tho 👀). Eye test and data back up just what an *outstanding* season Kahlina had.

Apparently should’ve just gone back one more year. Stat available only from 2018. Frei tops all time list in 2018 at +15.2 (!!!). So Kahlina has had the 3rd best season by this stat (2nd if you think the 13 less 90s by Petrović matter—they probably do and don’t. He was that good)
