I can’t stop watching this

So only 1 start in & Edward Cabrera is making some changes. Small sample size so I am only considering a +/-10% difference in pitch usage to be significant to watch for. As shown below, the prediction @brendan_cubs made is coming true. +15% more FB and -16% less sinkers.

Nico Hoerner the 21st fastest sprint speed in MLB (minimum opportunities 5) still too early but Ian Happ is next on the Cubs at 25.8. PCA not measured yet...

@OutOfTheVines @Michael_Cerami I think Greg is right about this, you should not let the pitcher get away with a first-pitch-out if the guys ahead of you also fell for those sinkers/chanegups in your example. The benefit of such a low stress inning is hard to overstate.

@Michael_Cerami My legit most boomer take is that if you swing at the first pitch after the first two hitters make first-pitch outs, you should be benched.

Hot take: A 3-pitch inning is way cooler than an immaculate inning.

Is it too early to be posting Baseball Savant analysis? Absolutely, but I am going to anyway, Ian looks great to start the year, and like PCA his bat speed (up only .5) is pretty cool to see, hopefully the barrels and exit velocity follow from that, but too early to tell.

9:25a CT - Hello, new Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Chicagoland… Models have clustered storm activity into the late afternoon/early evening, with chances trailing off after about 6-7pm. It may be cold, but it may be playable as storms move out around the start of the game.

Game 4 and Wrigley Field is absolutely rocking. You can sense it coming from the TV. Special, special place. This year certainly has a vibe to it, that's for sure.

@mattlindner I got tickets tomorrow and that's what I'm thinking. They'll bang one game but can't do a double header Wednesday and Wednesday should be worse. They might even start tomorrow earlier, delay and then pick it up late? But no chance they reschedule

So it’s gonna rain more or less nonstop the next two days. Cubs are at home tomorrow night and Wednesday afternoon. There’s no way they bang both games, right? Gotta get one in even if it means starting tomorrow night around 930, right?
