Now that it’s been some time… I really hate this shot and hope the movie understands the iconography it is referring to. The shot from Apocalypse Now is not suppose to be “hoorah”… the Americans are the Empire. Even JJ gets that right in TFA.

He’s not “universally known as the wrecker of the series”. That honour still goes to his predecessor.
Russell was supposed to be the saviour and resurrector.
Instead, he just filled the whole that Doctor Who had been thrown in.
I say this as somebody who has loved this show before it was cool and was bullied for it in school; as somebody whose knowledge of it surpasses I’d say about 99% of people on the internet (yep, tism); somebody who has been on the sets, met the casts, crews, executives and even a couple of show-runners (yes including Mr. Davies himself - he may put on a show in public but he isn’t as oblivious and unintelligent as this place will lead you to believe) over the years:
This show must go on a 5-10 year hiatus, so the current generation of writers can move on and a new generation of writers, whom love this show in the same way the last generation of writers loved it in their youth, can give it the dedication, adoration, and respect it deserves.
It really is that simple.
Oh and finally, THAT storyline has to be retconned. Sorry to the tens of fans of it. It’s gotta go, and not just ignored.

The reality is you couldn’t make a Disney Channel Mt. Rushmore because there are FAR too many valid candidates to choose from.
With that said, Raven is the only one of her own choices with an almost indisputable place on it. Hilary absolutely has a case too.

I seriously believe that between the 2 cuts, there is at least a 6/10 Justice League movie in there somewhere.
Both are terrible.
One has better character moments, the other has better visuals.
One wastes about 20 minutes, the other wastes about 2 hours.
One has Super-tash, the other has *that group jump shot*.
JL made me so viscerally angry, I wrote a 17,000-word essay/treatment for how the movie should’ve been…
ZSJL made me so sad that I finished the treatment (~23,000 words) and it’s been sat in my MacBook for nearly 3 years now. I still think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written.

Anybody who utters the phrase "Whedon's Justice League cut was better" should be ushered out of the room immediately and not heard from again on this subject. I don't care how much they worked on the film. Nonsense. Utter nonsense. Yes, Snyder's cut is a bit too long and in love with itself, BUT it's a WAY better film than Whedon's cut. Just popping on to say that this is hands down the most left-wing this current U.S. Administration has ever acted in its 2 terms and if the left were smart (😂) they’d use this to their advantage and win the 2032 election (the next one is lost - accept it) with a proper candidate without alienating the centre that they need. Same goes for the UK, Canada and France (but their current left seems to understand this… mostly)

It bums me out a little that most people assume Manny was the baby in the painting, and not the dad. We're so USED to orphan stories, especially in family films, that it's the default assumption. Ice Age being about a widower is incredibly rare and brave, gotta say.
