This is a joke bro. Game Went to NY and represented heavy for the West. At a time when the west coast was gone stale commercially too. He went toe to toe with the best emcees from the East coast and screamed Compton the whole way. He collaborated and helped out any artist he could from LA. More importantly, he maintained a west coast sound. There was no mistaking where the guy was from. He repped it fully. The other guy was doing records with Taylor Swift and only resorted to a regional sound when it benefited him. Linked with dudes when it benefited him. It’s night and day.

Word is out that Universal is dropping the horror mega-hit Obsession on digital on June 25th. People are losing their minds, saying it's going to kill a historic box office run. They are completely wrong. This isn't cannibalization. It's the smartest business play in Hollywood right now. Look at the numbers. Obsession cost under a million bucks to make. It opened to $17 million, went up 39% in week two, and jumped another 14% in week three. It is sitting at nearly $240 million worldwide right now. But Universal knows exactly what is coming. The back half of the summer is a bloodbath. Toy Story, Minions, Spider-Man, and The Odyssey are about to take over every screen. When you have a small indie horror film, you don't wait for the massive tentpoles to push you out of the multiplex. You strike while the iron is hot. Universal has been doing this for years with movies like Puss in Boots and Sing 2. They let a movie run, build massive word of mouth, and then drop it on Premium VOD while it’s still playing in theaters. They have made over a billion dollars doing this. It doesn't kill the ticket sales. It just gives people who hate the modern theater experience an option to pay 25 bucks to watch it at home. Why do so many movie nerds still think a digital release automatically destroys a theatrical run?
