Here at the Rose Bowl where large animals can be sheltered, 22-year-old Gabino Gonzalez and his father walked their horses out of the fires in Altadena all the way to Pasadena. Gabino’s home is gone, but he said he got his dogs & his family out and that’s all that matters.

Just a quick Kuno update. He couldn't keep down the anti-inflammatory meds our vet suggested and she's not in the office today so we went to the emergency vet clinic. His heart rate was high, he's running a fever and his abdomen stiff so they started an IV line and gave him some pain medication. They did a rudimentary ultrasound and found fluid in the abdomen which is never a good sign. Possibilities include a perforated ulcer or a tumor but until more testing is done we won't know.
I've authorized lab work and a more detailed ultrasound. I don't what happened. He was fine Monday when they took the stitches out. He was happy and content yesterday until after dinner. And today he is in so much pain he didn't want to move.
When I have more information I'll let you know. It sounds like he won't be able to come home tonight. 💔
