Great question, way to many examples as college baseball players aren't the smartest! But during a intrasquad, we had a senior CF who just struck out and proceeded to throw the bat over the dugout, the bat belonged to the on deck hitter (personal bat)

@alixonmartinez2 I don't know where you got that I agreed with you, but I definitely understand money is a factor in these decisions but to say d3 is recreational is crazy….. I can name a TON of really good programs outside of the to fifty that would disagree 🤷♂️ but its your opinion.

You are agreeing with me that going to a D3 (not top 50) is just recreational baseball… then The coach should say that!! Don’t lie to Players ..
if you quit at the juco level, that’s fine. At least you didn’t break your wallet to find out.

I would make the argument it’s not always better for the HS kid to go JUCO….. look at % of kids who go JUCO who actually attend 4 years university past JUCO, it’s not that high. Now you will save money I will agree. JUCO is cheaper, but a very nearsighted viewpoint.

@alixonmartinez2 At every level there are good teams and bad teams, Id a d1 team goes 8-40 does that makes there team “ rec “ what is the factor in being a college “rec” team. Absolutely there are bad D3 there are bad team in every level d2/d1/naia / Juco you name it….

@The_LecK Go play at an av. D3 where the coach went “all in on you” just to find out after 4 years that you owe 150k plus in loans… and you make 35k a year… good luck!!
Why is this the coach’s fault? Because he wasn’t honest with the kid telling him that baseball at his school was a rec

@JaredB_BSBL It’s not hard to understand. But it’s better for the student to go juco and save 30k plus a year. I’m just saying BE honest with the kid. Most of them don’t know D3 doesn’t give athletic money. You are asking an 18 yo to come and pay 30K+ just to be in a team

@alixonmartinez2 So as someone who coached at the d3 level I’ll tell you the financial aid package most d3 put together are almost identical to “athletic scholarships” given out at d2/ naia / low d1 with p4 being the outlier. You do realize that almost none of baseball programs are fully funded?

I’d like to see some data on transfer portal impact on players roles at current school vs roles once at the new university. Does transfer have direct correlation to a increase of innings / AB etc
