Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the GoI
The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India extends its heartfelt congratulations to all four Indian students for winning Gold Medals at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2026, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Indian team: Debadatta Priyadarshi, Harshit Singhal, Kabeer Chhillar, and Sandeep Kuchi, secured a Joint World Rank 1, alongside China, Vietnam, and Individual Participant (Russia), among 363 participants from 93 countries. The team was mentored by Prof. Subhajit Bandyopadhyay (@iiserkol) and Dr Indrani Das Sen (@HBCSE_TIFR), with Dr Anubendu Adhikary (@IITKgp) and Dr Jayasree Gopalakrishnan (NES Ratnam College, Mumbai) serving as scientific observers. This was India’s 27th participation at the IChO and its best performance to date, marking a historic Joint World Rank 1 for the country. @DAEIndia
