The Department of Basic Education is hosting the Second Partnerships for Education Business Dinner at the UCT Graduate School of Business, Waterfront, Cape Town, today, 18 March 2026. This outcomes-driven engagement aims to strengthen collaboration between the private sector and the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to advance improved learning outcomes for learners across South Africa. A keynote address will be delivered during the event. The Partnerships for Education Business Dinner is an annual platform that convenes leaders from business, education, and civil society to reflect on progress achieved through collaborative initiatives and to reaffirm a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of education in South Africa. The National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), in partnership with the Department of Basic Education South Africa (DBE), recently hosted the South African Schools Administration and Management System (SA-SAMS) pilot onboarding breakfast at Sedibeng District.

Participating schools are encouraged to actively share their experiences and feedback during the pilot phase, ensuring the system is strengthened through collaboration with educators before national scale-up. #NECT #DBE #SASAMS #BasicEducation #EducationInnovation

The SA-SAMS Modernisation Project represents more than a system upgrade. It is a shift towards reducing administrative burdens on schools and enabling real-time, trusted data to support better planning and decision-making across the education system.
