~ My thoughts on Blackrock ETF ~ Every time I heard about these types of news, controversial thoughts eat my mind. The crypto community has always shown a strong rebellion component against centralized parties such as the SEC or the government. When it comes to having the world’s largest asset manager apply for a Bitcoin ETF, however, everyone is so happy. But I think it's honestly a double-edged sword: • On a side we have the Blackrock giant entering the market, thus strengthening the credibility of this industry and pushing for a new level of adoption. • On the other we have more control over the cryptocurrency sector and the heavy shadow of upcoming regulatory frameworks, as big players don't enter the market without them. The ETF also raises in me additional controversial memories.. Do you remember 2017 CME Futures? They were the echoes of the market to trap late buyers. And I honestly believe that this move from Blackrock will likely play the same way, contributing to acquiring more power (manipulation) over crypto. “Blackrock is buying, so am I” This could be the future statement of retailers. Pay attention to how the news is propagated. It has a purpose, it's not random. As said before, this is in my opinion a double-edged sword. More future adoption sacrificing decentralization.
