The “R” Leadership Club

This morning we hung out with the Fierce Females 4th graders at Frazer Elementary. Today’s topic; LOVE! 💕 We talked about what the word meant and what were the things we associated with it. All 🫶🏽 for WUVB and our Fierce Females!

"Do you want your kids, your students, your athletes feeling confident even in things they've never done before? If they're entering into an arena saying, 'Look, we've never done this.' Do you want them going in with confidence or without confidence? So, despite the fact that they don't have evidence of doing it before, we want them to feel really confident. How do you feel confident about something you've never done? You have to believe in what's about to happen. Go back to the beginning we talked about. The bigger the opportunity we want, the more adversity we're going to face. So watch this: If you aim for bigger opportunities of things you've never done before you're going to have a harder time believing it's possible for you to do it because it's further away from you. It's hard. The idea right now for some of you who are a freshman in high school to think, 'I could be a national champion' or 'I could be going to the Olympics'. Think about that for a second. What if you were physically capable of going to the Olympics but right now part of your belief system was, 'You know what, I don't know if people go to the Olympics from the town that I'm from.' It wasn't your ability that limited you. It was the belief that limited you! 'What if I try to go to the Olympics and I work really hard for the next 4 years and I tell people that's my dream and then I don't make it? What will they think of me? Better not to aim for that dream so that I don't get criticized because that would be really debilitating for me.' I think of all the people who are in the Olympics, what if their belief was the thing that stopped them from training at a level capable of getting them there? What if they got caught by one of these five things? Don't let these beliefs be the reason you don't get the things that you want to get out of your life or your time here. Does that make sense?
