So, first off, if you beat Starfield, you don’t get Starfield. Simple, but let’s go a little deeper. Starfield is a slow game in some ways. Lots of action, fights, and systems to engage in, but it’s a slow burn. It relies heavily on role play. You take your time, you explore, you talk to NPCs, you make shit up. You experience it. It’s perfectly okay if that’s not your style of gaming. If you like games that lead you by the hand, tell a story, point a to point b, that’s great. There are some good ones out there. But if you rush through Starfield and “beat” it, you’re missing out on a lot of what gives the game it’s charm. That’s true of any mainline Bethesda game, of course, but Starfield is like the ultimate expression of that ideal. Do side quests. Look in nooks and crannies. Spend 6 hours building an outpost. Or a starship. Play with weapons and suit modifications. Bounce around and kill spacers. Be good. Be bad. Cruise the Free Lanes, just for fun. Do missions but also go out and wander around. Look for opportunities to role play. Build your character up. And a million other things… This isn’t a game you can beat. You just play it. Slow down. You’ll be glad you did.
