@Jakeisme36 @Terrilltf Do you have any idea why Macdonald wanted the railway near the US border. John A. didn’t want the FN going back into the US where they would be killed. Canadian Indians referred to the border as the “Medicine Line:” To to the south was “bad medicine,” to the north was healing…

Guess what I heard? @MarcMillerVM @PattyHajdu @DavidLametti are requiring releases by First Nations before any Indigenous Languages Act funds are disbursed. We should not have to release Canada to receive this funding. RT if you agree.

Reminder on National Indigenous Languages Day that the federal government is responsible for damaging and erasing Indigenous languages in Canada, so it should be obligated to fully fund fluency restoration everywhere. "Reconciliation" means little when languages are dying.

The Administration pulled video surveillance and printer logs. We decry this move. Our students should be free to express themselves without fear of reprisals - we want them to be independent thinkers, to take an interest in their education AND in their university. #abpse

Some horrible news. One of our students printed and distributed some flyers with concerns about CUE owning a mansion while also firing a number of our student facing staff. Today that student was pulled into a meeting with the Admin who promptly fired them from their student job.

You know who doesn’t have an issue with Pretendians, Indigenous post secondary institutions owned and governed by First Nations - which are often under funded. Institutions like @UniversityBQ, @YTCollege and others. Support those ones with funding instead.
