⠀he took another sip of his coffee quietly, unsure of what he should say next.

⠀”I ain’t nothin’ special, but. . i appreciate it.”

⠀”you’re welcome.” he murmured softly, taking another drink of the coffee and looking off to the side for a moment.

⠀”could be,” he chuckled lowly. “you got loads of stuff people would be interested in.” that sentence was a little lower, but completely sincere as he gazed over the brim of his coffee cup.

⠀he scoffed. “well, happy for ya’, but that shit ain’t for me.” he shook his head and took another sip of his coffee.

⠀he looked at her like she grew two heads, brows furrowed, dumbfounded and at a loss for words. “you take me for a datin’ kinda guy?”

⠀”well, yeah, they’re not as bad.” he murmured softly. “things were shit there.”

⠀he shrugged a little. “ain’t much happenin’ honestly, though I s’pose that’s a good thing.” bringing the cup to his lips he circled back to the comment she made. “you hate mornin’s.”

⠀⠀ look kid , I’ve⠀ put down more 𝚖𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚒𝚎𝚜 in my 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 than 𝒚𝒐𝒖.

⠀he slowly nodded, listening to her speak. lifting the cup to his lips he took another sip. “night shift went okay?”

⠀he lifted the cup to his lips, taking a sip. felt nice to have something considered normal. “what’re you doin’ today?”

⠀he took it, offering a slight nod of his head. “thanks,” he murmured.
