About how I do scrap business;
While many people are chasing visibility, some of us are quietly building systems from the boring businesses.
I didn’t enter the scrap business to “buy and sell.” I entered to understand how value moves.
Over time, I realised something:
The real money is not in the scrap.
It’s in controlling supply and logistics.
Anyone can find goods to buy.
Not everyone can move them efficiently, consistently, and at scale.
Margins in this business are small.
But when your system is right, small margins become serious money.
Most people focus on today’s deal.
I focus on building a structure that works next year, and the year after.
This is the difference between a trader and a company.
One depends on effort.
The other depends on systems.
I’ve seen what happens when operations rely too much on the owner.
Growth becomes limited.
And risk becomes personal.
So the focus is simple:
Build something that runs.
Whether I’m there or not.
