@BravinYuri You’re still thinking in old coalition math while ignoring the emotional and Gen Z factor. Your combo looks stable on paper but weak in momentum. It would hand Ruto his life back.

Kenyan politics is quite interesting. And I like to play the cards in my mind. Matiang’i, Riggy G, and Kalonzo might end up together. Both Riggy G and Matiang’i are banking on Uhuru and his connections’ financial support so he calls the shots there. It is he who wields the ultimate power. If he says, Wamunyoro should not be a presidential or deputy candidate then Riggy G will listen very easily. He is already simping. Uhuru can be wild and front Matiang’i and Kalonzo. It is obvious that Uhuru likes Matiang’i more than Wamunyoro, which I believe stems from his conduct during the last elections, which is why Matiang’i is even the Jubilee presidential candidate. As for Kalonzo, he is a reject within the Gen Z team. You can't mix him with Sifuna because that combo will dilute everything. He is a lazy politician too. He is better placed to deputize Matiang’i. Which could be a position he is willing to negotiate. So, they’ll likely drift together. The three. Matiang’i, Wamunyoro, and Kalonzo. But Riggy G is and will always be a headache.

Jomba I don’t think this would benefit you since your clients pay you in Ksh to teach them nonexistent nonsense, I am 100000% you have never worked remotely for an international client. You make money selling courses in Ksh that any fool can do without any training and sadly you never repay money you borrow from strangers or failed deliveries. Pay the people you obtained money from falsely, transaction evidences all over!

Dollar ikifika 180 Ksh as the politicians say, freelancers tutakula fiti sana. Reminds me of the early months of 2024 time ya Remotask when the dollar hit 160 Kshs and we were eating big.

The software engineers are defending themselves with “compensation”. Laughable coz I’m looking for physicists, electrical engineers that see a solution from the wave particle equations , all the way to a product . I haven’t found that talent here in Kenya .

You hear them arguing that "You (Kikuyus) never complained during Kibaki and Uhuru time. You wouldn't complain if it was a Kikuyu in State House". But you pose for a second & ask yourself, this same people they're trying to profile were on the Frontline fighting Uhuru when he was in StateHouse. And the very same people of the Mountain gave Ruto more than enough votes to make him president. Without these very same “Wakabila”, Ruto would never have been president especially with Kalenjins na hiyo kura yao milioni Moja za matakataka. That narrative is dead on arrival, they should find another agenda to sell, but we ain't going back to that tribal route. Stay guided!!

#LandIsNotProperty Mwalimu Wandia
My dear brother, Mau Mau fought against land alienation, police violence and lack of sovereignty. They were not alone. The trade unionists, Dini ya Msambwa and Barsirian arap Manyei were also in colonial detention at the same time. What made the status of the Mau Mau different is that the British decided to also engage in collective punishment of the Kikuyu Embu and Meru and pretend that the struggle was ethnic, not political. So few Kenyans know that the Maasai, the Kamba and the Luhya participated in the Mau Mau. Chief Mukudi of Samia was detained by the British for administering the Mau Mau oath. I saw ES Atieno Odhiambo mention some Luo soldiers in the Nairobi ranks of the Mau Mau but I lost the reference. I'll keep looking for it. Independence isn't liberation. It's the management of the colonialist state by Africans. The whites were not chased out. They are still here. They still own land, plantations, mines and major installations. They gave us CBC. They just got a military agreement in Mombasa which exempts soldiers from prosecution. Wazungu didn't leave. They retreated from visibility, but not from power. Until the late 1950s, the British had no intention of leaving. In their dream, Kenya was to be a multi-racial state. Shortly after, they aimed to leave in 1975. Then after, they decided to leave in 1963, but before they did that, they needed to ensure that Kenya was left in the hands of the sympathizers, your Lancaster people and the #IwenttoAlliance's. Whites remained in the independence government, protected by Sir Charles Njonjo of Kabeteshire. Bruce Mackenzie was Ministry of Agriculture. Humphrey Slade the Parliament speaker. Goeffrey Griffin, a former information officer, started Starehe. Carey Francis moved to Pangani High School. In 1972, UoN students were violently suppressed by the police after complaining about the architecture department being staffed by wazungu faculty who were failing the students. Guess who was in charge of Nairobi Provincial Police? James Myles Oswald, who had killed many Mau Mau fighters. The decision of the British to hand over the state to Africans was forced by the African resistance, of which Mau Mau was a major player. The British realized that it would be too expensive to keep suppressing rebellion, especially because the Mau Mau started to regroup in 1961. Plus the whole pan-African world's imagination was captured by the resistance. It was cheaper for the British to have African elites, your favorite Lancaster guys, rather than settlers, in charge. But overall, the British remained in charge from London. Forcing the British to hand over the colonial state doesn't mean we were liberated. It just means we got black settlers in charge of the state, instead of white ones. Reading helps even the best and the brightest.

@georgediano If united opposition truly wants to dethrone Ruto through the ballot, then they should pick Sifuna and Babu as presidential candidate and running mate. Picking Kalonzo and dupitising him with Matiangi shall hand Ruto an early win.

The United Opposition settled on Kalonzo Musyoka as the flag bearer of the United Opposition 3 months ago. The team is yet to pick a running mate due to complex politics including finances and voting blocs. But chances of persuading Edwin Sifuna are high. The team will mostly depend on finances from Uhuru Kenyatta, thus he has a huge say on the lineup. Uhuru has no issues with Kalonzo Musyoka. On the running mate, he has his Jubilee Party currently led by Dr. Fred Matiang'i. It is not clear who between Sifuna and Matiang'i he will pick. The team will assess voting blocs of Gusii and Western before making the decision. However, Mt. Kenya also wants a stake in the opposition arrangement to avoid having Ruto’s UDA running riot in the region, especially now that it is confirmed Prof. Kithure Kindiki will be retained as Ruto’s running mate in 2027. Pundits also say that Kalonzo Musyoka enjoys backing from Western allies, particularly the USA.

If it's about removing Ruto and replacing him with the same politicians, then I will vote for Ruto. If it's about removing him and replacing him with Maraga then I'm open for that. But kama Maraga mwenyewe will go to Gachagua's side then I'll vote for Ruto. My view.

So, without any biasness or emotions again, let's analyze this - there are 8 million voters in the mountain. These people are saying WANTAM and they already withdrew their support for Ruto even before Rigathi was impeached. Majority are these new gen z voters who vote based on agenda, information, and clamour for change. However, if these people are not told whom to vote for by Gachagua, they will either not vote or will end up voting TUTAM. Make it make sense.

Sifuna is being realistic. You want to kick Ruto out? Make alliances, but give the steering to the right person. Being a realist is also knowing that Maraga(The best candidate Kenya has ever had for the top seat) can never beat Ruto in an election with Kenya's voting patterns.
The Standard Digital@StandardKenya

According to Sifuna, the teams will hold structured talks to agree on a process for selecting a candidate with the best ideals and integrity to help steer the country back to its core values. ow.ly/567P50YTa2Y
