Please who knows any robotics, automation or engineering companies/startups in Lagos that offer internships opportunities for embedded systems, robotics and mechatronics students? I know several of them looking for placement.

We can't keep waiting for the world to bring industrial automation to Nigeria. We have to start building it ourselves. After 300+ hours of non-stop fabrication, spending more than 5kg in material, and gathering hundreds of individual components, this is the foundation of a 6-axis robotic arm built entirely from scratch. They say hardware is hard. Doing it here is even harder. But holding the pieces of what this could become is a feeling I can't quite describe. Let's see if all the math was right. Assembly begins tomorrow.

I’m planning to build four robots in 2026. 1 Something for the kids (ok, me)- maybe a bigger spider bot 2 Some automation mechanism like a conveyor system because mechatronics 3 Something inspired by human anatomy 4 The main project for the year, an industrial grade robotic arm

We (Zedora) signed a Collaboration and Development Agreement with the Defense Research and Development Bureau Consult, the R&D arm of the Nigerian military for the development, production & deployment of new-age technologies (including our clean energy solutions) to support our security agencies in the protection of lives & properties of our citizens. I have always stated that we weren't just here to make 'power banks', though not visible, loud or 'glamorous' enough, we have innovative projects in some areas that matter, while we try to contribute to solving our domestic power supply problems, we also have work to do in solving our security problems. National security is also our collective responsibility, and we will do our best to contribute our quota towards having a more secure and peaceful society. We appreciate Air Vice Marshall Francis Edosa (CDPP DHQ), Rear Admiral K.J Odubanjo (DG DRDB), Maj. General E.A Ndagi(Rtd), Air Commodore E. Ohanele (MD DRDB consult) & Brigadier General N.J Edet #Zedora 🇳🇬

Today, I'm a proud guy. I delivered a session on Paper Writing and how to access travel grants with IEEE. It's really nice contributing to student growth and providing them the opportunities to learn and travel across the world. #Engineering #TechRevolution #IEEE #paredãobbb

I think one of the most pleasant surprises for me since starting the Hardware Guild, has been discovering how many Kenyans are interested in embedded systems, electronics, and hardware in general. After Nigerians, they make up the largest group in the community.

Some time ago I announced ChipCycle, an initiative where people with spare microcontrollers and other electronic components can give them out to those who can't afford them but want to learn embedded systems or build projects. Unfortunately, it hasn’t gained the traction I had -

I asked this question on the hardware guild community today, "what will be more beneficial to 500 hardware founders: $10,000 each in funding OR Access to a fabrication lab with $5 million worth of equipment?" Almost everyone chose the lab. this is why -

In a previous post, I mentioned that access to microcontrollers is a major barrier for people trying to learn or build projects in embedded systems and robotics. So I’m curious, how feasible is it for us to manufacture our own microcontrollers here, and what would it take?

Sochima has been building drones, robots, and other devices like those in this video from cardboard and other low-cost materials for several years. Imagine what he could build with access to the right tools, training, and capital.
