All of this stems from the fact that one party, republicans, control the house, the senate and the president. The house and the senate are meant to safeguard you from a president abusing their power. So far republicans have been content in letting everything you see happen.

As a disclaimer, Reuters has a focus on finance and that creates a bias on its own. But as far as news sites come, it is one of the better ones.

PS: As for reliable news sites, Reuters is the one I have used for years. It's dry, factual, doesn't use emotive words and shoots both ways. It's also the news site a lot of news sites source their news from before piling emotions and bias on top of the reports.

US midterm elections are coming this year. US residents, I urge you to sign up to be a voter and vote. In just a single year, your administration has failed in internal and external policies. Red faced lies to its own people and hostile actions against your allies. Vote.

@Magna_Lux_ This much is true, but all the while we should divert our focus on projects like this, that intend to bring good into the world, and show these projects our interest and support. We should always show more support for our own team than hate about the other side.

@ThemeFinland It's saddening to see AI just taking more and more ground on Art, just because some corpos decided that AI was now the future and EVERYONE should live with it i hope in the future it disappears with the (hopefully) backlash it will bring, for now it's like that, unfortunately

@Julian_Rhmt @Zifer_art People have said that you can circumvent the poisoning by editing the image, but realistically, no AI company is doing this, it's far too demanding. *If* they have tools to detect poisoned images, they'd much rather just discard them, in which case, you still come out on top.

Starting January 16th Twitter will be able to use your work to train their AI. The new ToS also allows them to license out your work to other AI development companies. Twitter will become a direct competitor in licensing your work to AI companies.

Sorry people, if you have any further questions about this, I don't know the answers. Regarding the EU, this might be a similar situation as with facebook, where you'll have to find some hidden page where you can send them a form to opt out of their data gathering practices.

@I_DO_JUEGOS Probably not, I'll just shift focus on my account here, making it more about marketing and advertising and only uploading a select few artworks that have been poisoned for AI.

@Gij_Arentz I wish I could help, but if it is any consolation, it took me a long while of daily upkeep to get my bsky account to a good standing. When you're starting from 0 again you need to trust that growth is exponential. the first couple of hundred followers are the hardest to get.

@Inu_ti_le That is where it seems to be currently. There is yet to be any successful lawsuit or legislature that I know of that would make an arrangement like this illegal.

@ThemeFinland I don't know how it evolved (probably not much) but current laws make AI copyright and content a really grey area

@Inu_ti_le No, but no laws come immediately to mind that would prevent this from affecting EU users. But if you know of any, let me know!

@SimplementeEst1 Even if you do not end up deleting your account, you should diversify to other platforms if you aren't already. Some sites to try are: bluesky, reddit, newgrounds, deviantart, artstation, pixiv, furaffinity

I know I'm nobody, but I'm seriously considering deleting my account...

@Matti519585830 The more the better, here's a few options: Deviantart? (Kinda not great anymore, but still valid if you want to have a gallery) Artstation (Professional, industry focused art) Bluesky Newgrounds Pixiv (Casual, Asia focused) Reddit + Any sites that cater to your interests.

@se05239 Like I mentioned in another comment, this is not a good mindset to have. Do what you can within reason, know your risks, diversify, do not get comfortable with any single platform and protect your work with software such as glaze and nightshade. You have the power to decide.

@ThemeFinland Damn. Not a good time to be an artist anywhere. If the website isn't scraped by third-parties for materials to feed an AI, the website itself sells the art posted on it to third parties.
