If you are travelling, avoid calling the name of your destination in short form.
I was travelling to Katsina State. When I got to the Benue Links park, one of the staff directing passengers to their ticket boxes asked me where I was going. I simply said “Katsina.” The man immediately took me to the Katsina-Ala ticket stand.
The transport fare was small compared to where I was actually going, but since it was Benue Links, I was happy and didn’t even bother to check properly.
As we were travelling and got close to Abinse, the vehicle developed a small fault, so they called the park to send another bus. While waiting, I was discussing with some passengers and said, “With the way this journey has started, do you think we will reach our destination quickly?”
After explaining things to me, I finally discovered that I had entered the wrong vehicle. It was not going to Katsina State, but to Katsina-Ala.
