When a naïve girl evolves, she leans into her partner for validity, support and balance.. Trusting, believing that he'd always be there but the Men?? They take a step back, observing her evolution into someone else, and they dissociate themselves like they never aided the descent.

I thought I was loved. Turns out I was not.. We dated for 3 years... For three years, he introduced me to all the evil I know today... Smoking. Drinking Partying. I joined him, after all we'll end up together as husband and wife. He didn't correct me. He didn’t stop me. He didn’t guide me. He just stayed. And watched me change. Drinking started as “just once.” Smoking became “to calm down.” The clubs became “our space.” The abortions became “we’ll figure it out.” Every step, he was there. Smiling. Encouraging. Never refusing. So I thought it was love. Then I asked a simple question. “When are you coming to see my parents?” Silence. Then his truth came out. “I can’t marry a woman like you.” I laughed. At first. Because I thought it was a joke. He wasn’t joking. He looked at me like I was a stranger he never knew. And said, “What will you teach my children?” My hands went cold. I said, “You introduced me to all these and you were with me every step of the way.” He nodded. “I didn’t force you.” That line broke something in me. Because he was right. He didn’t force me. He just never stopped me. And somehow that silence became permission. I left that day with no apology from him… and no more excuses from myself. Some people don’t destroy you loudly. They just stand close enough while you do it yourself.

Be a mutual and not just a follower

I keep saying communication is a huge factor in working relationships.. and this goes to drive that further, cause when you communicate; you also readily reciprocate acts of kindness and support. I do hope my next relationship/friendship understands this concept..
