President Trump signed the Laken Riley Act today, a step toward strengthening our border. When our border is secure, our neighborhoods are safer, and a safer border means a safer Guyton.

The Peach Pundit article exposes a troubling truth that many of us have long suspected: school zone cameras are not about safety—they're about revenue. Even worse, they undermine one of the most fundamental principles of our nation: the right to due process. These cameras issue fines automatically, without giving citizens the opportunity to face their accuser or adequately challenge the citation. That’s not just bad policy—it’s unconstitutional. No government should sacrifice the rights of its citizens for a quick dollar, especially under the guise of protecting children. If we truly care about safety, let’s invest in solutions that work—such as crossing guards, better signage, and improved infrastructure. We cannot rely on a system that tramples constitutional rights while failing to keep our kids safer. This issue is about more than cameras or citations. It’s about standing up for the values we hold dear as Americans: fairness, accountability, and the protection of our liberties. Let’s reject these revenue schemes and fight for real solutions that respect our rights and actually make a difference. We can do better, Effingham!

Thank you, President Trump for trusting American citizens and for taking the first step down the road towards reversing this disastrous trajectory.
