In a 2020 research project code-named “Project Mercury,” scientists worked with survey firm Nielsen to gauge the effect of “deactivating” Facebook, according to Meta documents obtained via discovery. To the company’s disappointment, “people who stopped using Facebook for a week reported lower feelings of depression, anxiety, loneliness and social comparison,” internal documents said. Rather than publishing those findings or pursuing additional research, the filing states, Meta called off further work and internally declared that the negative study findings were tainted by the “existing media narrative” around the company.

I lament yesterday's decision by an Israeli military court to renew Layan Nasir’s administrative detention for a further four months. This young Palestinian Christian from Birzeit in the West Bank has been held in detention since 6 April on classified evidence that leaves her facing unknown allegations with no way to disapprove them – not knowing when she will be released, all the time without being charged, tried or convicted. This is an egregious state of affairs, as is the fact that her transfer outside the West Bank to Damon Prison is in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. I ask the Israeli Government to look again at her case and that she be released.  The widespread and routine manner in which Israel uses administrative detention of Palestinians as an instrument of Occupation is deeply discriminatory. It cannot be legally or morally justified. May God watch over Layan during her detention and comfort her family at this testing time. #FreeLayan

@AndresUmana7 @VinesMatthew My brother: I have been following @DrMichaelLBrown for many years as a fellow Pentecostal, and he often does amazing work (e.g., about Christian antisemitism). But I have never once seen him argue in good faith with an LGBTQ leader over many years. I hope this changes soon.

@VinesMatthew People also put a lot of stock in NT Wright, though the good bishop has never actually studied the topic and his personal views (in the technical sense of the term) are homophobic (i.e., comparing gay marriage to Nazi propaganda).

If you have friends or family who cite Preston Sprinkle's book to support their non-affirming position, this would be a helpful link to share. He puts a lot of weight on this argument, but it isn't true—and as the video shows, he consistently misrepresents the texts he cites.

@BlackWordBound @libsoftiktok Depends on your jurisdiction. And even if LGB folks only need access to "default" care, lots of us don't get "default" (i.e., competent, professional, unbiased) care when people find out we *are* LGB. That's not on us.
