I have been diagnosed with breast cancer that has spread to my bones, and I am also living with heart lupus and neuropathy. WANT STRONGER FAITH? HERE’S WHERE IT COMES FROM Dear Friend, Hebrews 11 tells us that those who lived before us were “known for their faith.” That didn’t happen by accident. They trusted God — and they kept trusting Him, no matter what they faced. So how do we strengthen our faith today? We begin by removing what gets in the way. Hebrews 12:1 tells us to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us.” Anything that pulls us away from God — distractions, wrong habits, or sin — will weaken our trust in Him. Clearing those things out matters. We also need endurance. Faith is not just believing when things are easy. It’s continuing to trust God even when the answers don’t come right away, even when the situation doesn’t change as quickly as we would like. And we must keep our focus where it belongs. Hebrews 12:2 tells us to look to Jesus Christ — not to our circumstances, not to fear, but to what God is doing and to the future He has promised. Faith grows when we stay close to God, continue in His Word, and live what we believe day by day. That’s how people become known for their faith.
