@kenju254 It is difficult to achieve anything complex with a lot of iteration, especially with Opus in term of cost . 4.5 and 4.6 can also go quite far, although 4.6 has been having issues recently. Most of the work I accomplish is with GPT-5.4 or codex 5.3

Must be doing something wrong with Opus 4.7. Limits running out in 40 minutes, and I haven't even finished a feature I was working on in my last session.

Most people try to copy-paste Polymarket into new markets. That doesn’t work in Kenya. We had to rethink distribution, UX, and trust from the ground up.

There is nothing like Data Science , it is sad people think there is anything like that after EDA then what, you cant tell me data modeling that is machine learning , Data scientists is fancy name data analytics guys coined to make them feel good about themselves , anyone in STEM would be called a data scientist then. Data science is not a standalone it is tool thing, like someonewould be like I am data scientist i use matplot pandas , conda , jupyter, tableau, powerbi . Do you see where I am heading with this , now there you go. Most Software engineers with proficiency in data analytics. Tbh people call themselves Data scientist to satisfytheir ego

Understanding How Tax Works for Influencers & Freelancers in Kenya. Let’s break this down using a hypothetical scenario. You land a gig worth Ksh. 100,000. The company pays you 95,000 and withholds 5,000 as tax. Many people think that 5,000 is the final tax. It is NOT. That 5,000 is a Withholding Tax ; which simply means tax paid in advance on your behalf. What this means in practice: • The tax authority already knows you earned 100,000
• The company remits the 5,000 withholding tax
• Upon remitting the 5,000 , a withholding certificate is issued .
• That certificate links the income to your PIN When filing your taxes, the system already expects you to declare the 100,000 income.
With the current validation rules, you cannot declare less than what has been reported. Here’s the important part most people miss 👇 -You are not taxed on the 100,000 unless you have zero expense -You are taxed on NET PROFIT. Net Profit = Income – Expenses Example: Income from gig: 100,000 Possible expenses:
• Capital allowance on Equipment (camera, lighting, microphone)- most people have zero clue on this 😎
• Internet costs
• Transport for the shoot
• Editing software subscriptions
• Studio hire
• Assistant payments Assume total valid expenses = 40,000 Your taxable profit will be 60,000, not 100,000. The 5,000 withholding tax you already paid is then credited against your final tax liability. Important to note going forward (especially from this year 2026) -Expenses must be properly supported, ideally through eTIMS compliant receipts/invoices. -If your influencer or freelance business is:
• unstructured
• cash-based
• poorly documented, Reconstructing expenses at the end of the year will not work This is one of the main reasons why influencers & freelancers must treat their brand like a real business. -Track your income
 -Record your expenses
 -Keep invoices and receipts
-Use proper documentation Otherwise, you risk paying tax on income that was actually spent running your business. The earlier you structure your business model for Tax planning , the better #CreatorEconomy #Freelancers #Influencers #TaxEducation #Taxfiling #Taxcompliance

KRA has been given a new weapon. Tax all the money in bank and mpesa. But do not be alarmed. In simple terms. Money entering your bank account is now presumed to be income. Unless you can prove it is not. Yes. Even if it’s “not business”. For example - Friends send you money to “hold” - Chamas pass money through your account - Your wife blesses your mpesa - Someone refunds you cash - You receive family support because you live in Nairobi - You sell land, a car, or livestock - Random deposits keep coming in KRA’s question is simple: “What is this money?” And now YOU must explain. What people wrongly assume - “It’s my personal account” - “It’s not profit” - “KRA must prove it’s income” Court said Money in the bank = income by default Burden of proof is on you If you can’t explain = KRA can tax it Result - Unexplained deposits = taxable income - Penalties & interest follow - Maximum chest pains Simple solution: - Money in - Explain it - Or pay tax on it

@markessien It happens in Kenya — if you don’t put in the effort, you’re likely to get fewer customers because of the competition. People tend to go for the newer, more attractive buses.

Safaricom is piloting Ziidi Trader, a new feature inside the M-PESA app that enables users to buy and sell Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) shares directly from their mobile wallet. The platform includes watchlists, price alerts and portfolio tracking. If rolled out fully, the integration could lower barriers to stock market participation and expand retail activity on the exchange.

The global economic order is shifting. The U.S. will hit $31.8T GDP by 2026. China: $20.6T, still growing fast, but not enough to catch up. Germany: $5.3T, holding Europe’s line as growth stalls. However: The EU isn’t collapsing, it’s stagnating. Others are just moving faster. Growth is necessary in order to maintain prosperity. Stagnation is equivalent to decline.

You spend Sh300 a day on takeout. No big deal, right? Until you zoom out: Sh300/day = Sh9,000/month That’s Sh108,000 a year. In 5 years, that’s half a million—without even accounting for what it could’ve earned if invested. The cost of a habit isn’t what it takes today. It’s what it takes from your future.

It is now safer to gamble in a casino than to do business in Kenya. At least in a casino, the house admits it is out to rob you. Here, they rob you and then accuse you of being lazy.
