@UCLanSocPres Flexible contracts needed with room to change service delivery where newly identified need. No fear of losing funding where priorities change. Statutory and #VCSFE working together for shared goals #UCLanSocPres

@PLumsden Agree. Churches and other faith groups provide incredible community support and are rarely funded. Assumption that congregations will cover costs. Coordinated approach could help

Q3. A separate point on funding - there is a real piece of work to connect churches in Lancashire (who offer community support) with their local #socialprescribers. Prob. 0.5 post. Where to seek funding? Maybe ICS? #UCLanSocPres

@UCLanSocPres Q3. Two sides. a) I find there's no hesitation in being open about costs (though for community groups not so easy to calculate); but b) many VCFSE groups are simply not at the table where large funding decisions are made (and often funding given to 'known' groups) #UCLanSocPres

@UCLanSocPres Not at all comfortable. Health systems are complicated and many #VCSFE orgs struggle to quantify full cist recovery. Assume pricing needs to be low to be competitive for funding bids and commissioned contracts

@UCLanSocPres A percentage of health budgets allocated to early intervention and prevention. Further research needed to quantify cost savings from #VCSFE services provided

@UCLanSocPres Big challenge for VCSFE sector is the diversity of the offer. Difficult for key orgs to represent all views and needs. Competition for funding is not helpful for a collaborative approach

@UCLanSocPres I am a Director at Think Forward but also work for LDCVS providing organisational development support for the VCSFE sector. I regularly see organisations providing social prescribing services out of existing budgets when they need direct funding for the additional work

@UCLanSocPres The voluntary sector needs to be excepted as experts in their field. Too often they are under valued by commissioners and statutory services

Pathways to Youth Leadership has begun. An amazing diverse group embarked in Cagliari, Sardinia and completed part 1 of this long term training course and the journey continues with online virtual exchanges and a training in Serbia in January next year.
