@RetractionWatch Surely being an 'author' means you have been so involved in the paper's day-to-day research, analysis and write-up, that you have the authority to validate the work. Publishing more than one a week massively weakens that claim!

Life gets complex when papers are retracted... but I guess the only solution is to check with journal listings that your citations are still current before submitting your work for publication... a good way of double-checking the accuracy of your citation details
